Overview
This short-format design magazine was developed as part of a typography-focused brief exploring the typeface Univers. Aimed at graphic designers and young urban professionals, the magazine titled Blur uses type as the central visual element, showcasing the versatility and modernist precision of Univers. The project consists of a cover, contents page, and a 4-page feature presented across three double-page spreads. Through a clean, structured layout and dynamic typographic compositions, the magazine reflects the rationalist roots of Univers while adapting its personality to appeal to a contemporary, design-literate audience. The design highlights the typeface’s wide family of weights and its impact on modern communication, while maintaining a minimal and editorial aesthetic. This project involved in-depth research on Univers’s history, design characteristics, and usage, translating these findings into a visual language that balances informative content with bold typographic expression.
